Our Divorce and Matrimonial Finance Division was founded by Harry Lipson who has over 40 years of matrimonial law experience to offer to our clients.
The team is headed by Partner Caroline Swain who works closely with Harry making a solid advice network for their clients.
Both Harry and Caroline are widely recognised as leaders in their field.

She has represented a number of well-known celebrities and high profile clients. As well as representing many local professional men and women Caroline also represents clients from all over the World.
Harry is Senior Partner to a professional, pro-active and successful team of lawyers. Harry is a firm believer that BPS’s Partner led departments offer a level of service and expertise which is becoming extinct in the profession. Harry is well known for reminiscing on how the profession has changed over the years. Harry’s desire is to continue and maintain the values of a traditional law firm.
Sefton qualified in 1981, and has acquired a wealth of experience from representing clients who face criminal proceedings brought against them or their businesses to representing professional clients who face serious disciplinary issues before their professional body, such as the SDT or GMC. Sefton also specialises in advising family members who have tragically lost a loved one, both at Inquest and in pursuit of civil justice, as well as advising clients who have survived catastrophic injuries as a result of serious accidents.
Karen joined BPS Family Law LLP in June 2016. Karen is an expert in Child Law. Karen represents families who find themselves in dispute over parental issues such as contact, holidays, education and religion. Karen routinely travels across the country advising clients and representing them in Court.
Hayley is an established, confident, and successful litigator. Hayley has a legal background of both family law and litigation which has developed her into a tenuous matrimonial litigator. That said, Hayley has the personality and discipline to consciously represent her client’s both inside and outside of the Courtroom in a respectful and civil manner.
Katie assists the Partners and Solicitors and is often the first point of contact for our clients. With a warm and approachable personality she instantly puts clients at ease something which our clients regularly comment upon. She thrives from building relationships and looks forward to welcoming clients to the firm and helping them along their journey with us.
